Once again I said that I wonder why my friends like this song more than any other songs I’ve ever wrote. I don’t know what kind of magic included in this song. My friends said that it is a market oriented song.

I wrote this song when I was an apprentice in an office at Bandung-Jakarta. This song inspired so much on my "wildo-wildo" imagination. I chose this song as a back up for my demos for Tompi’s album. As you know, Tompi is the vocalist of the well known jazz band, Bali Lounge. Then I found that he cancelled making his solo album. But my friends prefer this songs to my other 6 songs.

I really love this song. I made this song three years ago when I read the Detective Conan. How come? Here, while I read the comic, I suddenly find Conan sang duet with Ran. And then I imagine how is the song. After I got it, I just closed the book and searched for my pencil and a sheet of paper. I just write the notes. The next day I wrote the lyric, a much worse lyric I wrote before I learned more at writing lyric.

At the end of July I recalled that I’ve wrote this song, so I planned to rearrange the song. Then I give Tia the text, I sang duet with her, and then I send this song together with the new arrangement of "Maafkan" to Cilapop, a songwriting tournament conducted by TV7. If I win Cilapop, I will lead the Indonesian music industry. Don’t you think that recent Indonesian songs really have no directions. They don’t know where to step. So the Indonesian music industry need a revolution. You see that Radja and Peter Pan was two of the worst performers in Indonesia. The real musician would hate these kind of songs deep in their heart. Especially Peter Pan. It doesn’t charm me at all. Dimas, my friend, told that the vocalist sings like a man trying to throw out his shit into the WC (you know what I mean). You can recall Peter Pan’s performance while featuring Abdee Slank. When Abdee move his naughty and fast hand on their guitar and waiting for Peter Pan’s guitarist for their turn, Abdee found that the guitarist could do nothing. The guitarist just do the rhythm calmly, so Abdee decided to take all of the guitar’s part. I think the guitarist’s skill is just far far far far below Abdee’s. Note that I’m not Abdee’s fan, but his play is just much better than Peter Pan’s. I think to get Indonesian’s symphaty, to get the market, the radio must play the song everyday and everytime, or MTV must play the clip everyday and everytime, even though the song is just a shit of diarrhea. So that’s why we need a revolution!! If I won the tournament, I’ll start the revolution, just like Gank Pegangsaan did to 60’s and 70’s music, because I can’t do it if I stay here and if I don’t have friends.

When I stopped my writing at around 1 month, I got lots of good things. So, I want to thank to God for all of His divines.

First, I’ve finished struggling on my minithesis exam for acquiring my bachelor degree, and I really astonished with the mark and because of this until the night my brain was still blank, but thanks to Mbok Yah for giving me a bunch of spirit to continue my life.

Second I’ve recalled my old song which I had wrote three years ago, "Cinta Selaksa Makna". I got it rearranged by my recent style - of course I still intended on orchestra and its string section. By Sept 2nd I re-record (David Foster named it "Rechordings") two songs of mine with my new arrangements, "Maafkan" and "Cinta Selaksa Makna" for Cilapop festival, a kind of Songwriter Idol held by TV7. But I still wonder why people prefer "Maafkan" to any other songs I’ve written, whereas I take this song from the rubbish bin of my sheets?

Next, I’ve come to Dirga’s (he is an arranger and composer too) room and find so many valuable MP3 to copy (There, I found many early 90’s songs) and so many valuable knowledge of arrangement.

Then, I also enjoyed Elfa’s Bossa, a bossa-focused vocal group of Elfa Secioria which is established beside Elfa’s Singer. Elfa’s jazz playing was so exciting. His arrangement … wouwww … what a hand !!

Finally I was so disappointed with Indonesian Idol’s result. Mike won the tournament? I think people was just touched with his story, about his struggle to achieve the best two singer, and his chubby (I don’t think so) face. I prefer Judika for the next Indonesian Idol, because he has better techniques in singing. You know the part of "Tak Kuduga" (while Ruth Sahanaya suddenly came out), Judika sang first, but Mike confuse him with the wrong lyrics. Mike stole Judika’s part. And then Ruth came and give another wrong lyric. Ruth Sahanaya, the original singer of the song always make mistakes when she called to perform in Indonesian Idol. She did it twice. I knew it because I remembered the lyric well. That’s why I loathed Ruth Sahanaya in her live singing. However, I also give a big applause for Mike because the winner is not Yudi, the worst idol I’ve ever seen. Nevertheless, I still challenge people who love Mike for his singing ability is better than Judika to show why, because I know exactly and technically why Judika is much better than Mike. I can compare directly between both of them. You must know that after the result is announced by Irgi and Ata, a lot of SMS came to me. All of them said that it’s disappointing that Mike be the winner.
